The SVP, SMB Digital Sales is responsible for banking product sales to small and medium-sized business customers, interacting in US Bank's digital channels. This leader must be sales and customer-focused, and will drive opportunities for revenue growth and optimization of sales activities. This leader will collaborate with product and marketing partners on launching new growth initiatives, and improving operational efficiency, productivity, and controls. This individual provides leadership to a large team of direct sales personnel, organized by product and acquisition funnel stage. This role reports directly to the SVP, Business Banking GTM and Business Development.

Essential Functions:

  • Shape Direct Sales Strategy: Define the vision, strategic direction, and operational plans needed to exceed customer expectations and sales goals. Coordinate between centralized sales support teams, marketing, and product groups on strategic initiatives. Maintain awareness of the competitive environment and recommend strategies to increase sales performance and revenue.
  • Accelerate Revenue Growth: Responsible for driving annual sales revenue growth, including forecasting performance and tracking results. Monitor sales, revenue, and funnel performance across products sales and customer acquisition funnel
  • Enhance Sales Effectiveness: Identifies opportunities for efficiency and growth, and drives the development of collateral material, sales training, operational procedures, and systems requirements to ensure sales personnel are set up for success.
  • Build a High-Performing Sales Organization: Manage a team of 50+ sales personnel and leaders. Drive talent management and development. Make decisions around staffing, appraisals, promotions, salary, and terminations.
  • Compliance: Ensures compliance with all U.S. Bancorp policies and procedures such as the Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, etc.

Essential Qualifications:

  • This is a senior level, highly seasoned and experienced position requiring strong leadership and management skills. The position requires a thorough knowledge of sales concepts and the bank's products in order to respond to customer inquiries from small and medium-sized businesses, and drive sales revenue.
  • 10 years of banking experience
  • 8 or more years of sales management/leadership experience
  • MBA preferred
  • Well-developed leadership abilities and strategic management skills.
  • Proven experience in sales management and business development
  • Knowledge of banking products
  • Experience in team leadership, mentorship, and performance management
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical mindset, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influence/partnership skills
  • Good organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics platforms

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $170,255.00 - $200,300.00
