VP, Residential Lending & Secondary Market Sales

The VP, Residential Lending & Secondary Market Sales is responsible for the management, and oversight of the Residential Mortgage Department, which includes residential mortgage and consumer loan compliance, processing, underwriting, and closing. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of policy and procedures to ensure efficient residential loan originations, compliance with investor quality assurance programs, and the timely and accurate sales of loans to Investors. The position is also responsible for the review of HMDA information to ensure accurate annual HMDA reporting, and the implementation of new residential and consumer products or enhancements. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Loan approvals in Encompass.
  • Work with processors and underwriters to meet ECOA dates and move loans through the pipeline.
  • Attend weekly pipeline meetings with processors and underwriters.
  • Back-up for closings (preparing closing disclosures and setting up loan file for closing).
  • First line of support and back-up for processing and underwriting, as needed.
  • Review and approve residential construction loan advances.
  • Review and reconcile board reports for monthly board meetings.
  • Respond to the residential lending audit requests (TENA, FDIC, NYSDFS, etc.).
  • Look for process improvements while maintaining the highest degree of regulatory compliance.
  • Special projects as needed.

Requirements:

Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 7 years of experience in residential & consumer lending, origination, operations, servicing, and portfolio management in a banking environment.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written communications skills, along with analytical and organizational skills, customer service experience, ability to work independently and as a team. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience using Encompass LOS, LaserPro, and CSI/NuPoint preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to walk up and down stairs. Must be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds at times. Must be willing to attend events outside of the office.
