Job Description

The Consumer and Employee Banking National Sales Leader reports to the Head of Small Business Banking and National Sales Executive and is responsible for leading a team that includes Consumer National Sales, Employee Banking and Financial Sales Organization. Responsible for creating, advising, guiding, driving and leading a team of bankers focused on growing and deepening internal and external customer relationships. Works with senior branch banking leadership team and partners to set the vision, strategy and goals around internal and external customer outreach that results in increased business outcomes for the branch banking organization. Identifies current and future trends and opportunities to ensure continuous revenue growth focused on deepening customer relationships through multiple proactive outreach programs. Creates and drives strategies with the collaboration of multiple partners including marketing, operations, branch banking, executive, and product groups to drive a plan to address customer growth.

Essential Functions

  • Accountable for the sales delivery and execution of the business segment.
  • Responsible for driving growth and providing comprehensive financial solutions to Consumer Customers and Employees through outbound and inbound calling activities.
  • Leadership to a team of Sales and Operations Managers and is responsible for leading their sales teams to effectively drive growth through proactive outbound calling and meaningful inbound sales conversations with Consumer and Employee Clients by leveraging digital tools to build strong, trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sales strategies for growing revenue to achieve assigned financial targets and team growth goals. Drives sales teams to build a strong pipeline of prospects and clients.
  • Maintain key customer relationships and develops and implements strategies for expanding consumer and employee banking client base and increasing client centrality.
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen, including knowledge of consumer banking products and solutions
  • Actively lead individual direct reports to optimal performance through a commitment to strong coaching routines and excellent coaching techniques; provide direct feedback to leaders while holding them accountable to sales team targets and people-leader goals
  • Enable and inspire leaders to the highest standards of execution, driving consistency, problem solving and sound decision making while setting a clear team vision
  • Results focused leadership through driving digital tools and sales through outbound calling and inbound sales activities.
  • Build strong, effective partnerships with colleagues across the enterprise to work together and collaboratively remove roadblocks for success.
  • Develop sales strategies that incorporate client segments, market opportunities, competitive forces and calling activity effectiveness.
  • Identify priorities and ensures sales teams execute against plans that focus on deepening client relationships, elevating market share and increasing share of wallet.
  • Drive sales teams to build a strong pipeline of prospects and clients.

Qualifications

  • Proven business acumen by working with Consumer Clients and Employees to provide solutions and services to fit their financial needs (checking, savings, personal, home equity and mortgage loans, credit cards, wealth referrals, small business, etc.)
  • Proven Sales Leadership in a call center environment preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in banking/financial services
  • 5+ years of proven leadership experience building, motivating, and coaching a successful team of sales leaders
  • BA/MBA in finance, accounting or other related field (or equivalent work experience)

  • Previous experience driving a culture of excellence
  • Proven success leading a multi-unit, customer-centered retail organization

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $180,270.00 - 220,330.00
