National Inside Sales Representative
Owns assigned customer relationships and drives sales growth, item and category penetration and profitability of those relationships. Executes on key company initiatives. Success in this position is measured by sustained sales growth, customer retention and overall knowledge of US Foods policies and operations.
Flexible Work Policy: The work for the National Inside Sales Rep position is completely remote anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories. (This position will be working with customers in Mountain Time Zone.)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain customer relationships through virtual visits and follow-up on a systematic basis.
- Responsible for achieving annual sales plan through growth of new accounts and penetration of existing accounts.
- Identify product category and exclusive brand opportunities in order to secure new volume, account penetration and loyalty. Manage product mix to maximize contract compliance and customer specific requirements. Be a problem solver to support customer challenges and goals.
- Execute on key company initiatives.
- Utilize SOUS to track and record customer communication to engage the support of cross functional partners in meeting customer challenges and opportunities.
- Communicate with customers to apprise them of mutual performance, new products, programs and market trends.
- Set-up and support onboarding of new accounts as assigned.
Relationships:
- Internal: Customer Contact, National Sales and market leadership, National Credit, Operations, Replenishment, Sales and Service corporate teams
- External: Customers, vendors
Work Environment:
- Remote: This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Related Experience: Experience using quantitative & qualitative research data will be helpful. Prior experience in foodservice, distribution or other relevant area strongly desired. Previous sales experience is strongly recommended.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as customer service and presentation abilities. Ability to prioritize and organize independent work. Should also have demonstrated problem solving ability and negotiation skills.
- Required:
- Minimum three years in a customer facing sales role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organization skills; Ability to be self-motivated in an independent work environment.
- Previous experience/success working in customer facing roles
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Prior experience utilizing SOUS system and other USF proprietary systems preferred
- Comfortable using and presenting via Teams conference call tools.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred.
This role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $57,000 - $110,000.
