Sales Development Representative

The Sales Development Rep (SDR) will play a crucial role in the growth and success of Commence in the Commercial Healthcare markets. This position requires a candidate with a background in lead generation, outbound prospecting, relationship building and preferably within the software or technology industry. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including sales, project management, and marketing, to develop sales plans and strategies that will help expand the customer base and identify new projects and opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Contact and qualify new leads that come in through inbound lead sources such as email and website inquiries.
- Research, identify, and prospect target healthcare organizations (payers, providers, government agencies, and healthcare technology buyers).
- Execute outbound outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate qualified meetings.
- Collaborate with the sales teams to build prospecting plans and strategies to reach new and prospective customers.
- Conduct research to build account plans on target customers that will lead to meaningful outbound activities.
- Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand prospect needs, pain points, decision-making processes, and buying timelines.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the value proposition of the company's products and/or services.
- Monitor and attend meetings with prospects while handling the introductions and follow-up with the sales representatives.
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers, industry trends, spending trends and competitive analysis.
- Monitor, update and track new leads and active opportunities using modern CRM and database systems.
- Manage annual software renewals for all existing customers while pursuing upsell and cross sell opportunities.
- Attend conferences and tradeshows on behalf of the company to drive new business and create brand awareness.
- Support lead generation efforts before, during, and after healthcare conferences and events.
- Conduct pre-event outreach and post-event follow-up to drive meeting conversion.
- Other duties as requested or assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, marketing, communications or another related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales, business development or other related field and preferably within the software or technology industry.
- Have a strong work ethic and are eager to learn and create connections with prospects.
- Have experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or another similar prospecting applications that will allow you to track leads and next steps with prospects.
- Familiarity with sales methodologies, such as MEDDIC, Solution Selling, etc.
- Knowledge of Commercial Healthcare market dynamics, regulations, and procurement processes is desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage senior-level stakeholders.
- High comfort level with outbound prospecting and using common outreach methods like phone, email, LinkedIn and video messaging.
- Coachable mindset with a strong desire to learn, improve, and grow in a sales career.
- Must be able to travel within the United States on a quarterly basis while maintaining professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member.
- Thorough understanding of commercial awareness and brand recognition to successfully establish rapport with prospects.
