Account Executive
Vorticity delivers GPU-accelerated, high-performance-computing (HPC) software for three data-intensive domains:
Molecular Dynamics (MD) Platform – A one-stop cloud service that lets drug-discovery teams set-up, run and analyze large-scale MD simulations without touching HPC infrastructure.
Mineral Exploration – The world's fastest 2D/3D airborne-EM inversion engine for mineral exploration, running 100× faster than traditional CPU workflows and cutting borehole requirements by up to 50%.
Energy Exploration – An elastic Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) solution for energy companies that delivers 10× faster results, drastically reducing multi-million-dollar compute bills and scales to thousands of GPUs.
As an Account Executive, you will own net-new revenue across all three product lines. You'll translate complex geoscience and biophysics concepts into concrete business outcomes—accelerated drug pipelines, de-risked drill programs, and cheaper seismic imaging—while driving the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, with the help of our technical team.
What You Will Do
- Pipeline & Prospecting – Identify and qualify enterprise opportunities in biotech/pharma, mining & exploration, and energy (O&G, CCS, geothermal).
- Discovery & Value Mapping – Engage scientists, technical leaders, and economic buyers to uncover pain points (e.g., compute bottlenecks, drilling risk) and map them to Vorticity's value prop.
- Solution Demos & PoCs – Coordinate lightweight proofs-of-concept that highlight time-to-answer, cost savings, and workflow compatibility (e.g., export to Schrodinger, Oasis Montaj, Petrel).
- Conference Presence – Represent Vorticity at major events (ACS, SEG, PDAC, etc.), deliver technical talks or posters, and convert booth traffic into qualified leads.
- Deal Management – Structure usage-based or committed-spend contracts, negotiate legal & pricing, and beat quarterly/ACV targets.
- Voice of Customer – Channel market feedback to Product & Engineering to influence roadmap.
What You Bring
- 3+ years quota-carrying success selling technical SaaS, cloud HPC, or engineering software to enterprise R&D or geoscience teams.
- Able to converse credibly about at least one of: molecular dynamics, geophysical inversions, or seismic imaging, and quickly learn the others.
- Track record of closing multi-stakeholder six-figure (or larger) deals and navigating legal/procurement at mid-market and enterprise accounts.
- Familiarity with cloud consumption models (AWS, GCP, Azure) and GPU economics.
- Excellent storytelling, presentation, and written-communication skills; comfortable speaking at conferences and authoring value briefs.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or business discipline—or equivalent professional experience.
