Job Title: Sales Manager

Albireo Energy provides building automation and energy efficiency solutions for commercial and mission-critical environments. The Sales Manager is responsible for direct management of Sales Representatives, Sales Engineers, Account Executives, and Estimators. The focus will be on ensuring strong customer relationships are established and maintained while also driving employees to achieve business goals and quotas as well as working with the management team to grow business in new market areas in the Seattle area. Strong relationships with mechanical contractors, general contractors, and specifying engineers strongly desired.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead a team of sales and estimating professionals who sell products and tailored solutions to meet client's needs.
  • Identify opportunities and develop strategies to continue to grow a deep sole-sourced client base.
  • Work to develop business in line with the division's growth objectives in targeted vertical markets.
  • Based on market trends, recommend and implement a profitable long-term sales growth strategy.
  • Work within a culture of a collaborative, open, team environment in support of the divisions business goals.
  • Effectively evaluate performance against goals and implement appropriate development plans.
  • Provide coaching to develop cross-selling skills, business development strategies and advise employees on effective sales tactics.
  • Develop training programs, conduct a monthly meeting cadence, utilize vendor expertise, and exercise companywide expertise to deliver educational content to sales team.
  • Review proposals, estimates and contracts to ensure accuracy, standards and professional quality.
  • Actively participate in writing sales proposals and developing business as necessary.
  • Encourage a forward-thinking culture within the sales group.
  • Maintain visibility in the marketplace by participating in both industry-related and non-industry related activities.
  • Develop a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Drive employee engagement, training, and development in the key areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Provide direct oversight for the sales team.
  • Develop and manage the department budget.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate with the team to drive efficiencies.
  • Develop a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance.
  • Drive a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and site safety as well as other aspects of the business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration or related discipline is preferred, although a candidate with a combination of education and directly related experience will be considered.
  • 8+ years of sales experience including 2+ years of sales management experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other industry-related software.
  • Thorough knowledge of building automation, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience in retrofit and new construction environments within healthcare, higher education, government and data center verticals.
  • Experience in building and maintaining high performance sales teams through training and professional development activities.
  • Exceptional written, oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring others.
  • Prior experience supporting construction and field employee groups, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.
  • Familiarity with Johnson Controls hardware product lines and network architecture is required.
  • Commitment to our "open door" policy and regular contact with all field employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach managers and supervisors to use company practices for maximum effectiveness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requires strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Key leadership competencies in addition to high ethical standards, strong values, integrity, drive to deliver results, pride in personal and team performance, decision quality, building effective teams, and action orientation are fundamental imperatives.

Salary Range: $150k-$200k base + Performance Based Incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, basic life insurance, voluntary life insurance, short term & long term disability, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, and 401K with company match.
