Energy Salesperson

Summary: To promote Energy sales and increase profits by actively contacting prospective and existing customers and professionally promoting our products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Grow the business in a manner that is consistent with our core values.
  • Evaluate the needs of customers in our service area, potentially leading to expanding our product line.
  • Help develop the existing customer base through product knowledge.
  • Develop new sales leads by prospecting and pursuing targeted new business through calling or on-site visits, attending trade shows, initiating mailings, and other related activities.
  • Develop and leverage relationships with businesses and industry entities such as agriculture, real estate companies, home builder associations, and other trade organizations to cultivate new business prospects.
  • Build trust with new and existing customers by identifying needs, providing advice, and offering effective solutions to their needs.
  • Receive, follow up, and resolve or ensure resolution of customer complaints/queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Required to build and maintain strong customer relationships with frequent communication to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Actively participate in industry organizations to continually build a professional network.
  • Build trust with new and existing customers by identifying needs, providing advice, and offering effective solutions to those needs.
  • Attend training sessions to keep up to date with the latest products and technology.
  • Keep current with customers' environmental needs regarding the various energy products.
  • Track and sometimes deliver lube products as required.
  • Assist the team with problem-solving when needed.

Special Skills/Training

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to understand and use effective sales skills.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and associated software.
  • Ability to research and inform customers of the technical aspects of Petroleum and related energy products.
  • Working knowledge of refined fuel, lubricants, and propane.
  • Energy sales experience (preferred)
