The role:

The Sales Support Junior supports the sales force in activities of generating new contacts and developing commercial opportunities. The role involves active search for potential customers, first contact via phone, email, LinkedIn, websites or other channels, lead qualification, and scheduling appointments for area sellers. Once the meeting is set, the candidate will accompany the seller on visits for a proper handover. The activity is mainly back office and daily prospecting, with a focus on lead generation, market research, and operational support to the sales team. The target market is initially the OEM sector in Italy with particular attention to regions located geographically in the North: Piedmont, Lombardy, Triveneto, and Emilia Romagna. Subsequent possible interaction with foreign countries such as France and Iberia.

Principal Responsibilities

Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Perform daily cold calling activities towards target companies.
  • Search for potential customers via LinkedIn, web search, industrial lists, and institutional sites.
  • Send first contact emails using approved templates.
  • Identify the main company stakeholders.
  • Qualify leads by collecting information on needs, applications, and potential.
  • Record activities, contacts, and conversations in the CRM.
  • Schedule appointments for sellers with relative informative handover.
  • Accompany the seller on visits for the transfer of information.
  • Perform follow-up calls or emails when necessary.

Market & Data Analysis

  • Analyze the market to identify segments, clusters, and new opportunities.
  • Monitor competitors, sector trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Create and maintain structured lists of prospects.
  • Prepare brief insights and target lists for the sales team.
  • Keep all relevant information updated in the CRM.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Strategy & Business Intelligence AW, Europe.
  • Collaborate with Marketing for campaigns and materials.
  • Coordinate with Application Engineering for basic technical information.
  • Interact with Customer Support and Pricing for operational information.
  • Provide insights gathered during research to the sales team.
  • Support cross-functional activities useful for commercial development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (even three-year) in Economics, Marketing, Communication, Management Engineering, or related fields. Possibility of internship also for undergraduates and/or graduates in related fields.
  • No prior work experience required; internships or similar activities are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and predisposition for telephone interactions.
  • Familiarity with digital tools, LinkedIn, web searches, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to organize work, manage priorities, and precision in documentation.
  • Curiosity, analytical mindset, and interest in the commercial field.
  • Attitude to work towards KPIs and measurable objectives.
  • Languages: Italian, English, and French (written and spoken). Knowledge of Spanish is considered a plus.

Contract: 6-month internship

Location: Lainate (MI)
